Are you looking for a rewarding hobby, are you interested in drama and backstage roles. Why not become a member of Ecclesfield Priory Players and help run the EPPiC Theatre?
Please telephone or e-mail before visiting if you feel apprehensive about turning up unannounced. info@eppictheatre.co.uk
Members of our society all have two things in common, we love things theatrical and we like the team challenge of belonging to a group who own and run their own theatre.
Members of Ecclesfield Priory Players all give their time voluntarily, nevertheless, we run the theatre as professionally as possible. We can only do this provided our membership numbers remain constant. As with most things in an ever changing world, this is only possible provided new members join the team.
If you are interested in acting (we are primarily an amateur drama group, not an amateur operatic group), please consider joining EPP. It does not matter if you have never acted before, come and learn. Our members have a wealth of experience which we would love to pass on.
We welcome enquiries from anyone who is interested in helping with back stage tasks such as scenery building, make-up, prompting, set construction, painting, costumes, sound effects and wardrobe. Also 'front of house' duties including programme selling, reception, refreshments and public relations.
It may be that you are not interested in any of the above but would like to be on the maintenance team. They are always finding things to build, mend, paint and demolish, (not always in that order!). Keeping our building in good order is very important and the maintenance team are vital.
For safety, reasons we have a permanent Stage Lighting Designer but we would welcome anyone who was interested in learning about stage lighting.
EPP has an active social side as well as the drama based activities. The Social Secretary arranges quiz nights, parties, Christmas activities, treasure hunts, theatre trips and even the occasional barbecue. To keep every member informed, a monthly newsletter is circulated.
You can contribute as little or as much time as is comfortable for you. Most people take a turn on the four weekly coffee morning rota, but you could attend rehearsals and make the tea or do some cleaning! Of course, if you are in a play, then you will be attending rehearsals two nights per week anyway.
To take part in any of the above activities you must join the society. To do this please call in and meet some of us. Saturday mornings are the best time because there will always be members at the theatre who can answer questions and give you a conducted tour. If you like us and you want to sign on the dotted line, ask for a Membership Application Form and remember to check the current membership fee.
Finally, if you do not want to take on any of the above roles but would like to be a Patron Member please use this link to the Patrons Page.
